Why we do what we do - And why it starts with tallow

At Tin Roof Farm, we don’t come from a boardroom—we come from the dirt. From rainy tin roofs, hand-rendered batches, and Sunday suppers made with what we had and what we trusted.
We’re a small farm in Mississippi doing something we believe in: making honest, nourishing goods from grass-fed beef tallow and real, recognizable ingredients. No fillers. No synthetics. Just the good stuff, made the old way.
🌿 Why Tallow?
Beef tallow has been used for generations—not just in cooking, but in skincare, soap, and candles. It’s deeply moisturizing, vitamin-rich (A, D, E, K), and remarkably close to the oils our skin naturally produces.
But somewhere along the way, we traded tallow for seed oils, lab-made lotions, and marketing claims with ingredient lists we can’t pronounce. We believe it’s time to change that.
We render our tallow slow and low, just like our grandparents would have. No shortcuts, no chemicals, no compromise. It's the base of most of what we make—from our skin balms to the jars we sell for cooking. Why? Because it's effective, sustainable, and your body recognizes it.
🥩 Why We Care About Food
We believe food isn’t just fuel—it’s information. It tells your body what to do, how to feel, how to heal. We’re tired of toxic oils and processed everything being the default.
That’s why we sell pure tallow for your kitchen right alongside our skin care. Because what you put in your body is just as important as what you put on it—and vice versa.
💪 Our Mission Is Simple
We're here to:
Bring back traditional, nutrient-dense ingredients
Offer clean, handcrafted products at fair prices
Help people cut through the clutter and get back to what’s real
Prove that small farms can do big things
We’re not trying to impress. We’re trying to nourish. One jar, one balm, one cast iron pan at a time.
Thanks for being here. You’re part of something good.
